About our speakers
Sarah Pulis is a passionate advocate for accessible and equitable design, committed to creating a more inclusive digital world. As the co-founder and director of Intopia, she champions the importance of considering diverse user needs, helping organisations with strategic and practical initiatives that lead to more equitable experiences for all.
Katie McDermott is the founder of a digital inclusion user- testing platform See Me Please aimed at making online services accessible for all. Prior to trading suits for t-shirts Katie oversaw the digital channel for Service NSW including engineering, design and product management. Katie led globally recognised innovations such as the NSW Digital Drivers Licence, Active Kids Vouchers and the Service NSW App. Katie has studied digital innovation at MIT and also sits on numerous boards including the University of Sydneyβs Computer Science Industry Advisory Board, ACT Procurement Board and the Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia.
Jamal's love of tech demystifies the preconceived views many people have about disability. Jamal doesn't think accessibility needs to be a scary or heavy conversation. Creating interest in accessibility and the users who rely on accessible services is what's important. Jamal is an engaging and fun speaker who uses humour as a way to humanise the blind experience in the hope of making conversations about inclusion a little less awkward.
