Plain Language Workshop

Jun 23, 2022, 11:30 PM – Jun 24, 2022, 1:00 AM

In a short workshop, learn what plain language is, why it matters, and how to build it into your content strategy.

About this event

Plain language is straightforward, easy to understand writing that avoids unnecessary jargon and complicated phrases. Using plain language in your web content helps users from all backgrounds understand, access, and use your website or product.

This interactive UX@UA workshop will cover:

What plain language is

Why it matters

How using plain language in your content can improve the user experience (UX) and your organization’s broader content strategy

You’ll have the chance to practice writing in plain language through collaborative activities. Feel free to bring a piece of complicated content that’s been on your mind to workshop!

We’ll also share what the fields of UX writing, content strategy, and content design are and why they’re important parts of UX work. This is the first event in our UX Writing & Content Strategy series.
