Building an Inclusive Research Practice

Oct 28, 2021, 11:30 PM – Oct 29, 2021, 1:00 AM

Learn how to build an inclusive UX research practice and design with inclusivity in mind.

About this event

Join us for the third and final part of our series on Representation and Inclusion in UX and Tech, where we'll talk about how to build an inclusive UX research practice.

We have three amazing speakers lined up! Topics include recruiting for and representing diversity in research, cognitive biases that impact research and suggestions for mitigating them, and building an inclusive research practice by designing "with," not "for."

Speakers:

- Sonu Mishra, UX Researcher for the Office of Research Information Services at the University of Washington.

- Michelle Ortiz, Director of Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Arizona College of Medicine.

- Ace Vu, founder of Human of Us, accessibility and inclusive design advocate, and former Principal Product Designer at Intuit.

All are welcome and you don't have to be affiliated with the University of Arizona to join us. Join us at 4:30pm to kick things off with opt-in breakout rooms. The presentations will start at 4:45pm.

We'll record this event, so if you can't make it, register on Zoom anyway and we'll email you when the recording and transcript are ready.
