Hi everyone, after a year long of hiatus. We are back again with a new meetup! In our June meetup, we decided to start fresh and easy which is why there won't be a specific theme for this meetup but welcoming any design related topics from anyone who wanted to share their expertise or experiences doing design. For this one we have 2 speakers waiting for all of you to meet and learn from!

Topic: Hey designers, let's help your developers out
Gaddafi Rusli - Head of Product Design @ Setel

Gaddafi has been designing digital products for the past 10 years – helping founders to launch their startups – including SAYS, KFit, Fave, Kaodim and more. He's currently heading the wonderful product design team at Setel. You can see him babbling about design ops, design systems, mentorship and stuff like that. Outside of work, he enjoys building random side projects for fun to keep in touch with his programming interest, flipping through design & architecture books and getting bullied by his 4-year-old daughter. He listens to too much sad/emo rap songs and he created a design account on Instagram to post emo designs.

Topic: Designing a post-pandemic travel experience in South East Asia
Azim Jameel - Product Designer @ Payd

Azim is a Product Designer working at Payd, a Fintech startup. Having worked in studios in London, Kuala Lumpur and Brunei for 5 years, he is no stranger to the Design Industry. Coming from an Industrial Design background and having shifted towards the Digital Industry, Azim crafts products and experiences from a holistic perspective ensuring the users' problems are at the core of his work. Outside of work, Azim enjoys experimenting with new technologies and designs whilst venturing into his own independent projects.

📒 About Friends of Figma, Kuala Lumpur

Friends of Figma, Kuala Lumpur a.k.a FOF_Kuala Lumpur is one of many Figma community user groups that existed in the world.

Our first meetup started back in the December 2019 and it was already a virtual session. We invited awesome speakers from Singapore, Australia and even Brazil! We even created a virtual Figma map so that we could interact with our lovely participants and speakers virtually! The community is run by 2 designers in KL. The first one is David Yap who is the chapter lead. He is currently freelance UI/UX Designer who helped a lot of companies to build great products and experiences. Fun fact: he also has a patent registered under his name! The second one is Chee Seng. He is an Associate UI/UX Designer in Stampede Design. Fun fact: he carves rubber stamps and used to code.
