When beginning any design project, gathering inspiration and hopping onto the Figma board immediately to start designing is a common practice. Sometimes one could even go to the extent of using placeholder texts, images, illustrations and elements in the hi-fi versions of our wireframes. 

According to an article by Billy Carlson of Balsamiq, Content is design, and by starting with a content-first mindset, the designer ensures that the user interface evolves to support what's inside it. Content-first design is an approach that uses the content of your website or product to determine its design. He further goes on to state that "in order for your website or application to succeed, you need to have the right content to meet your goals." 

So what exactly is website content and how can one go about gathering the right elements needed to adopt the content-first design approach? In this session, we will be having Nkemdilim Odili, come share with us how we can be better product designers when we design for users with content in view. Nkemdilim is currently a UX Writer at RBC Ventures (Mydoh). Prior to her current role, she was a UX Writer at UBA Group, Content Strategist at Healthy Yanaga as well as other companies.
