If you answered "yes" to all three, you should definitely attend a much different type of Figma meetup: the Advanced Figma Masterclass!
First, some key things about why this is different than a typical meetup:
• It's in the morning, it's a half day long
• It's structured more like a hands on workshop
• It's limited to 12 people maximum (including myself), so you will get 1:1 attention
• It costs $20 per seat, to cover expenses and to make sure you show up
The masterclass agenda will be a mix of hands-on Figma work, Q&A sessions, as well as design topics attendees will vote on to discuss:
Tentative workshop schedule:
0900 - 0915 Introductions and agenda setting
0915 - 1000 Hands-on Figma Q&A. Have a Figma Q? We'll have an A.
1000 - 1100 Design collaboration best practices: Design systems, user testing, getting feedback, managing revisions and documentation. We'll share with more hands-on work as needed!
1100 - 1200 The future of design: We'll look beyond the Figma of today and discuss how future technologies (e.g. voice, wearables, etc.) will affect our roles in the years ahead.
1200 - 0100 Lunch, Show and Tell and wrap up Q&A. We'll end with a working lunch to talk about anything else we didn't cover.
The actual agenda will change to match the needs of those who attend, but the goal will be to leave the workshop with actionable practices to make you better not just with Figma, but as a designer in general.
I highly recommend attending if you use Figma daily for work and want to learn more than what's available online, or if you manage a team of designers using Figma and need an 2nd opinion on best practices.
The workshop will be run by myself (Nelson) and maybe a few guest speakers. I started using Figma for a customer experience project in late 2017 and recently converted a design team from Sketch to Figma. I'm also involved with Figma's plugin development beta program.
I know it's late notice (I mean, this is just a week away) but I suspect it'll fill up fast due to the limited seat count. Hope to see you there!
