Join us for a LIVE co-creation session exploring Google’s Material 3 Design System through real-world examples from products like Google Calendar, Gmail, and more. This collaborative workshop offers a unique opportunity to learn how Material Design is applied across Google’s ecosystem, identify opportunities for improvement, and discuss strategies for optimizing component adoption and consistency.
Note: This session is a learning opportunity, not a critique of Google’s work. We fully recognize the scale, complexity, and evolution of Material Design—and the challenges of applying design systems across a broad product suite. To keep the session neutral and focused on learning, we’re intentionally not inviting the Material Design team. This ensures an open environment where we can explore, question, and share freely.
Expert-Led Inventory Process: Learn systematic methods for exploring, documenting, and evaluating design system components
Hands-On Experience: Analyze component families and assess adoption patterns across various Google products in real time
Collaborative Learning: Participate in live voting, Q&A, and structured discussions to share insights with peers
Practical Takeaways: Discover strategies for improving consistency, scalability, and user experience
Community Resource: Contribute to findings that will be compiled into a shared knowledge base
Design System Practitioners working with or inspired by Material Design
Product Designers and PMs looking to understand implementation at scale
Engineers and Developers implementing Material components in their own systems
Leaders in Design, Product, or Engineering aiming to align product quality and system adoption
Guided Component Exploration: Analyze specific component families within the Material 3 Design System as seen in Google products
Real-Time Inventory with Infa.ai: Use the Infa.ai extension to document components and identify patterns
Interactive Discussion: Share observations and vote on adoption trends in a constructive environment
