FAQ

• What is this event about?
• This is a free portfolio review event hosted by Friends of Figma — Dallas. Attendees will get thoughtful, constructive feedback from experienced designers to help improve their portfolios, interview readiness, or just to get a second pair of eyes on their work.
• When and where is the event?
• The event takes place on Tuesday, May 28 from 6:00–7:30pm CT on Zoom. The Zoom link will be emailed to confirmed attendees.
• How do I RSVP?
• RSVPs open on May 14 and close on May 25 at 6:00pm CT. You'll fill out a registration form that helps us match you with a reviewer based on your goals.
• How many people can attend?
• We are capping attendance at 12 participants, with each reviewer meeting with up to 4 attendees.
• What happens while I wait for my review?
• You'll start in the main Zoom room with our host Roxanne, who will guide the group through fun ice breakers, UX discussions, and Q&A. It’s a great opportunity to learn from others, meet peers, and warm up before your one-on-one session.
• What should I prepare beforehand?
• Please have your portfolio and optionally your resume ready. Be clear on what kind of feedback you're hoping for—like UX strategy, UI design, case study storytelling, visual hierarchy, or research insights.
• Why would I need to provide a resume?
• Providing a resume helps reviewers better understand your background, career goals, and current experience level. This context allows them to tailor their feedback—not just on your portfolio, but also on how well your work aligns with the roles you're targeting. It also helps simulate real interview conditions where hiring managers often review your resume alongside your portfolio.
