About the Designathon

This Designathon is a hands-on product design challenge conducted as part of Illuminati, the annual tech fest organized by ITM University. Participants will take an idea from concept to an interactive prototype using the Figma ecosystem.

Teams will receive real-world problem statements on the event day and work through ideation, UI design, prototyping, and presentation within a fixed time frame. The focus is on structured thinking, clarity of design, and translating ideas into usable web or mobile app experiences.

Prizes & Registration

• 1st Prize: ₹20,000

• 2nd Prize: ₹10,000

• Registration Fee: ₹500 per team

Registration and payment collection are handled entirely by the ITM Illuminati management team.

Rules & Regulations

• Teams must consist of 3-4 participants

• Problem statements will be shared on the event day

• All work must be done using Figma tools only

• Designs must be created during the event duration

• Pre-made templates are not allowed, except for default Figma components

• Use of AI is allowed for research and creative support

• All submissions must be original. Plagiarism will lead to disqualification

Mandatory Submissions:

• Ideation board (FigJam)

• Design screens (Figma)

• Interactive prototype or working app (Figma Make)

• Final presentation (Figma Slides)

• Final submissions must be made within the given deadline

• Late submissions will not be considered

Event Rounds

Round-1: Discover & Define

Teams receive the problem statement and brainstorm ideas, user flows, and assumptions using FigJam.

Deliverable: FigJam ideation board

Round-2: Design the Experience

Teams design high-fidelity screens in Figma with a focus on clarity, consistency, and flow.

Deliverable: Figma design screens

Round-3: Make it Real

Teams convert designs into a working web or mobile experience using Figma Make.

Deliverable: Functional application or prototype

Round-4: Story & Position

Teams present their solution using Figma Slides, covering the problem, approach, and key features.

Deliverable: Presentation deck

Note: This event is officially hosted under Illuminati by ITM University. All registrations, ticketing, payments, and on-ground logistics are managed solely by the ITM Illuminati organizing team. Friends of Figma Vadodara is involved only in event curation and execution support.
