Tucson Font Walk

Tucson

About this event

Join the UX@UA organizers for a Font Walk around Downtown Tucson, a relaxed, creative stroll where we’ll look at the city through the lens of typography. We’ll pay attention to the design details we usually overlook while getting inspired from fellow creative professionals as we walk.

During the walk, we’ll pay attention to the fonts we encounter “in the wild”:

  • What styles were chosen

  • What emotions they convey

  • How they support (or clash with) the message

  • What alternative choices might have worked

We’ll split into two groups to explore two Downtown Tucson routes along the SunLink line:

Meet either group at 1pm on Friday, Dec 12, 2025 for a 60- to 90-minute walk. Both groups will be led by UX@UA organizers. At the end of the walk, the two groups will converge and wrap up the event at Presta Coffee (501 E 9th St).

We will post any updates on Slack (use the invite link to join) and LinkedIn.

We’ll gather everyone’s findings at our January New Year Networking event, where we’ll take a closer look at the technical side of typography (serifs, spacing, contrast, hierarchy, and more).

Low-pressure, fun, and yes… you’ll definitely get some steps without trying!
