Join Friends of Figma Seattle for a hands-on workshop at Seattle Central Community College on November 22!
Whether you’re new to design systems or looking to refine your Figma workflow, this 90-minute session will guide you through building a mini design system from the ground up. Using Atomic Design principles to create reusable, scalable components.
We’ll cover the foundations of color, typography, and spacing; build flexible components like buttons and inputs; and learn how to combine them into fully responsive layouts. You’ll leave understanding how to create consistent, efficient design systems that evolve with your product.
What you’ll learn:
How to structure your design system using atoms → molecules → organisms
Setting up tokens for color, type, and spacing
Building components with variants and states
Using auto-layout and variables for consistency and flexibility
Organizing, documenting, and publishing your system for teams
Who it’s for:
Designers, developers, and anyone new to Figma or design systems. This is an entry-level to intermediate workshop.
