Pune

Who is this for?

This workshop is designed for students and early-stage creatives who are new to design or looking to build a foundational understanding of the field. Participants will gain a broad overview of the design process, including the different roles, stages, and thought patterns involved in taking an idea to a final experience.

Workshop – Once upon a Design

Exploring Emotional Arcs and Storylines behind great design

Like any compelling story, great design has a beginning, a middle, and an end. It starts with a need, builds through exploration and challenges, and resolves into a meaningful experience. This workshop draws from this narrative structure to explore how iconic designs are shaped over time. Participants will learn to see products not as static outcomes, but as evolving journeys crafted through intentional decisions that guide users from one moment to the next.

Participants will be introduced to the different stages of the design story, from identifying a problem to shaping and presenting a solution.

Each stage is paired with a hands-on activity, allowing participants to not just learn these steps, but actively engage with them. By working through these moments in real time, they begin to understand how design evolves.

By the end of the workshop, every participant will have created a mini design project of their own, giving them a practical understanding of how real-world design projects take shape.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the workshop, participants will have:

  • Introduction to the key stages of the design process.

  • Exposure to design frameworks that help structure thinking and decision-making.

  • Understanding various types of Emotional Arcs and their use in design

  • Creating a mini design project with a storyline
