Better Accessibility by Designing for Your Ears (Interactive Lesson)

About this event

The first event of the year is here!

Matt Argomaniz, Lead Designer at The New York Times, will be giving a lesson on designing for mobile accessibility.

This will be an interactive lesson — more than just a presentation (bring your phone for a few activities), but not quite a hands-on workshop.

Lesson description, from Matt:

Designing for blind users reveals opportunities for better accessibility and even sharper visuals.

I’ll share how I use “reading order” and written scripts to guide my design process.

Laptops not required for this lesson, but please bring your phones. You’ll do a few quick exercises and I’ll ask y’all plenty of questions.

Here's what to expect:

6:30pm - Sign in and find a seat 😊

6:45pm - Lesson begins! 💻

7:30pm - Lesson ends. Brief Q & A.

7:45pm - We must leave the library promptly as they close at 8pm SHARP. Those who would like to continue chatting can move across the street to the Florida Room 🍻 (previously listed Chapel Pub, but we had to pivot due to overlapping with their Trivia Night).
